Our 2024 Estate Sangiovese has risen to gold.
We’re proud to share that our 2024 Estate Sangiovese has earned a Gold Medal and 93 points at the 2026 San Francisco International Wine Competition, one of the most respected and competitive wine evaluations in the world.
Last year our 2023 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon took silver at this same competition. For a small, family-run winery in the Texas Hill Country, stepping up to gold is deeply meaningful.
What Makes This Medal Special
The San Francisco International Wine Competition has been running since 1980, and every wine is judged blind by sommeliers, wine writers, and other respected industry professionals. There are no labels and no reputations, just what is in the glass.
Producers from around the world competed in 2026. Of more than 1,100 medal winners, only about 300 reached Gold or higher, and ours was the only Sangiovese from the Texas Hill Country to take gold.
From the Vineyard to the Glass
A score like this reflects a lot of hard work: our growth management program in the vineyard, careful decisions at every step in the cellar, and an outstanding 2024 harvest.
You can taste the results. Our Sangiovese is full bodied and robust, with light floral notes on the bouquet and flavors of dark cherry and currant on the palate. It is a natural partner for pastas, pizzas, and vegetable dishes, and its intense flavor profile invites comparisons to Brunello, its famous Tuscan counterpart.

The 2024 Sangiovese was part of our October 2026 Wine Club Collection, but we weren’t able to announce the news at the time. If that shipment came your way, you already have a gold medal winner at home. The collection is also available to purchase, with our 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon, our new 2024 Aglianico, and our limited Super Texan*.

The 2024 Estate Sangiovese is available on our website for $29 a bottle. Wine club members pay $26.10, and joining the club is free.
You can also taste it with us at the vineyard. The tasting room is open the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 11 AM to 5 PM. Reservations are encouraged, and walk-ins are always welcome. Plan your visit.
